Leadership
Greg Mechler has over 34 years of management, leadership and consulting experience. Greg began his career in 1973 as a driver manager with Schneider Transport. Over the next 17 years he then worked in numerous transportation management roles including driver manager, driver and contractor recruiter, safety director, general manager, vice president of operations and president/CEO. Those experiences involved executive leadership positions with four motor carriers, including Schneider National, Inc., C. A. White, Fleetline, Inc. and Venture Transport, Inc.
Greg founded the Human Advantage, Inc. in 1994 to help organizations build high performance capability. Offerings include: Strategic Planning Workshops, Operations Performance Systems, Interviewing and Selection Strategies, Employee Retention Processes, Management Skills Training Programs, Workplace Communication Skills, Executive Team Workshops, and Customer Service/Sales Training. These services are provided to companies throughout the U.S. and Canada. The Human Advantage is also affiliated with Strategic Programs, Inc. to broaden delivery capability to include custom employee survey design and analysis, market research and employment research expertise.
Greg is an active member of the Board of Directors of the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA), and a member of the Texas Motor Transportation Association (TMTA). He is also a member of the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) and the International Society of Performance Improvement (ISPI).
Greg has written a manual for front line operations management. This manual supplements the "Daily Dispatch Challenge," a computer based operations training method developed by the Truckload Carriers Association. The manual also functions on a stand alone basis and is published by Delmar Learning, Inc.
The Human Advantage, Inc. has performed several in-depth studies of effective operations performance factors. These studies were done at major truckload carriers. Many of the concepts discovered in these studies are contained in the "Daily Dispatch Challenge Manual."
Greg is certified to install, administer, and train the Professional Dynametric Programs, a system of behavioral assessment and management software tools. This system has proven extremely effective in the selection and management of truck drivers as well as organization culture assessment and career mapping.
Greg is a certified consultant for the Promantek "TrakStar" web based performance appraisal system. This system provides a comprehensive, documented process for administering and delivering performance appraisals.
Greg holds a B.S. Business from the University of Minnesota and an M.S. Organizational Systems from the University of Kansas.
